Declaration of Interests None Minutes of
the meeting held on 23rd July 2008 Proposed Cllr. B. Jeffs Seconded Cllr. Read (AGREED) Mr Ogus referred to minutes 268.4
of last meeting wished to clarify the meaning of his report that there were
the same amount of games just fewer leagues games. Felt it read that there
were fewer games in all. Cllr Power observed that the new
Standing Orders had said written reports to be presented before meetings,
this would remove the need for clarifications Mr Ogus happy to provide a written
report School play area questionnaire Cllr Power reported Secondary
School questionnaire yet to be seen understands it is going out before ½
term. Cllr Power will see
spreadsheet relating to the younger childrens results. Cllr Read needs to make up a
structured plan so could include in budget Adjourn for Public Session - Public Questions 15
minutes. No public in attendance Sports Section Resolution: For S. McCullock to represent the Youth of Alresford
on the Recreation Committee Proposed: Cllr Power

received or representatives at meeting Cricket Report Mr Joyce pleased to report a successful season finished in the top 6 and moved up a league. Nets have been booked with Perins
throughout winter . Strip Renovation Leaving the strip to settle down
over winter and roll out before the next season. Will speak to Clerk re costs CS they hope to improve the service and the caretakers will
assist more. AJ some
concerns re the facilities CS happy
to talk about pricing structure that would be beneficial HO Rugby It has been the best season for
several years with the influx of youth, the aim is to keep them here Friendly match this weekend The
Christian Barnard Memorial Match., a pitch celebration at Bighton Pleased with after match entertainment.
Paying more than had wanted but have reached agreement with ARC Doing the best to keep smokers off
the balcony and drinking during football observed the smokers last week
were members of the public and acknowledged it was difficult to manage 1st league match
October 4th. Coach is very enthusiastic and his aim is to win all
matches KY
last Saturday night went well HO agreed
and was pleased with the food and bar. Noted that with a 2pm kick off and
return at 4pm could be difficult but
they would cope HO advised

Update Astro turf busy being used by local people. Cost of Astro turf issues awaiting conversation with Mr Ingram. Vandalism to Astro turf kids come in through hole in fence As Specialist Sports College they want the
children but any signs of misbehaviour they will be off site. Redo fence on Astro and adjoining the Avenue. KY advised Perins Head
has requested a meeting with him BJ pointed out that the
youths were using Thornton Close to have their parties JR need to advise the
CSOs CS Good use of tennis
courts preferential rates. White tennis surface works ongoing Facilities are
well used but still have spaces. Perins are piloting a Rugby holiday camp on
Mon and Tues 27and 28th
October of half term and invited RFC coach to contact him KY is the astro is

Recreation Committee had asked for an update of Open Spaces and requested this is done JR commented it is good to strengthen links with NATC and to
have Mr Surrey on board. Whether any mileage
could be gained from encouraging those using fitness suite to then walk over
to use ARC CS Fits
nicely works two ways perhaps users could have informal agreement to park at
Arlebury Park walk to
fitness suite and return to collect cars may be encouraged to use ARC BJ reminded
that car park busy when football is on CS reciprocal
agreement and could look at new ideas JR perhaps
use of gym Stratton Bates Pavilion
Renovations - Playground Survey has prioritised this site. JR The
Pavilion had been broken into. The Town Clerk, who only recently gained
access, upon inspection noted
it required cleaning and tidying. The Football Club need to advise of repairs required
ready for next meeting. Finance Report Sports Invoices for outstanding fees. Cllr Read asked if any attachment
re this item 2009/10 Budget - Items to be taken into
consideration JR advised
on target but were about to spend more. Are there any particular items to be considered if so
need to have ready for next meeting. asked committee any
questions on finance report None received Recreation Grounds & Parks Bonfire Night -
Catering arrangements JR advised
difference this year is that ARC in business. Rotary are happy with ARC being
open and Rotary can still sell food. Weed & Feed Resolution: For Weed & Feed Stratton Bates/Sun
Hill/Arlebury Park (Top Fields) at a cost of £1,740 Proposed: Cllr Jeffs Seconded: Cllr
Power [Agreed] Timing of work to be checked with

the park can only be closed for three days per year, 1 x Bonfire Night, 2

Town Clerk made aware of report regarding the effectiveness of soft surfacing unsure if it works Soft Surfacing in abeyance. Repairs
(Rocking Horse & Aerial Runway) Aerial runway is being well used External Funding - MP to
forward information to Town Clerk Slide at Arlebury Park - Open Space Approved Slides and age ranges discussed MP pity
the fall of the land could not be utilised to get a longer slide. checking
funding with Play England Age range agreed at 7-10 years Arlebury Recreation Centre use by Youth Club Cllr Power asked for this item to
be discussed Cllr Read agreed Cllr Yeldham had issues with mix
of alcohol and youth on the premises Mr McCulloch advised was having a
meeting with Sgt Curzon and Hampshire Youth Services Next Meeting 19th November 2008 - 7.30 Arlebury Park (1st Floor
