Item 8.10 overhanging trees Cllr Gentry commented that this item had been dealt with directly between the homeowners and P Bridges, trees mentioned were on land owned by residents and therefore not NATC responsibility.

 

Cllr Yeldham advised overhanging trees in Jacklyn’s Lane at pedestrian level. HCC to be advised

5 Correspondence

1 Cllr Cattle shared letter (corr item Mar 82) re Barrett Homes development and location of car parking at junction of Rosebery and Grange Rd on Stratton Bates it was suggested to insert kerb stones to edge making it pedestrian friendly. Cllr Cattle to inspect area and feedback to Cllr Middleton

2 Cllr Cattle shared emailed correspondence re areas of litter in Alresford. WCC have been notified and clearance arranged.  Churchyard area is responsibility of Church Warden for clearance letter to be written to Parochial Church Council to advise of location

3 Cllr Cattle shared  Peter Bridges quotation (correspondence Mar item 11)re clearance of area by The Soke. It was identified as incorrect location. P Bridges to be advised

 

Cllr Yeldham advised  Litter Pick-up Day  went well and was supported by the Alresford Women’s Institute, Ladies Group, some Councillors and a selection of volunteers. Letters of thanks to go to all. NATC grateful for their time and commitment

Cllr Yeldham further advised that an area close to the pedestrian entrance of Perins School had four notable  gaps in the hedging that were being used incorrectly, this was highly dangerous and a letter is to go to Perins and NATT in this regard

6 Proposal from Alresford Society re general improvement  to railings in West Street

Cllr Cattle shared drawings of Existing situation; Proposed Improvements and Additional Opportunities. Matter was discussed and suggested the drawings were presented to NATC Planning Committee for comment. Proposed by Cllr Gentry Seconded by Cllr Yeldham (Agreed)

7 Allotments

Cllr Cattle advised that new plots had been allocated with the exception of  SW corner plot which was unfit for release at this time.  Cllr Gentry suggested that the plot bank to be reinforced possibly with sleepers to enable issue. Cllr Cattle to speak with Peter Bridges

 

Cllr Cattle advised some concerns had been raised with regard to the size of the new plots and he had spoken directly with the plot holders and the matter had been resolved.

 

Cllr Cattle advised still have people on waiting list.

 

Cllr Gentry asked for any ideas to consider future location to accommodate waiting list.  New site does not have to be within NATC Town Boundary.

Locations discussed New Farm Rd opposite South Rd junction; Land by White Hill/Sun Lane towards Bishops Sutton. Cllr Cattle advised that paddock behind top allotments not for sale.

 

Cllr Gentry advised NATC are ever mindful they have an obligation to residents to locate a new site to accommodate those on waiting list.

8 Chairman’s summary

Cllr Cattle discussed dog fouling and low number of dog bins indicated as 6 bins;  1 x 120L in Jacklyn’s Lane; 2 x 120L Arlebury Park; 2 x 120L at Recreation ground- 1 off Ashburton Rd/ Rosebery Rd ; 1 x 120L Sun Hill Recreation Ground.

 

Cllr Gentry suggested insufficient - check comparable cost of smaller bins.

Cllr Yeldham suggested an updated master plan showing all locations of dog bins, litter bins etc to be organized.

Cllr Yeldham advised of trees in Mitford Rod roundabout having been vandalized. Clerk advised NATC had already reported this.

Finance report tabled and noted that 0809 outlook coming in under budget by £50
