5.1 Cllr Evans letter re white lines Station Road/Station Car Park This matter was discussed and agreed that a site meeting be held with HCC/Cllr Cattle. Clerk to write to HCC

 

5.2 Resolution to purchase 2x WCC Garden Waste Bags at cost of £75 for Cllr Phillips clearance of The Soke Proposed Cllr Cattle Seconded Cllr Yeldham

 

5.3 Parish Estimate – Lighting Cllr Cattle read document through to committee Cllr Gentry Proposed raising Budget to £10,000 Seconded by Cllr B Jeffs (Agreed)

6 Allotments

6.1 Installation of water tap at new site – Cllr Cattle suggested 2 quotes for installation of line approximately 38-40mts to double headed tap. Proposed Cllr B Jeffs Seconded Cllr Gentry

 

Cllr Cattle following periodic inspection updated committee on condition of original and new sites. Original site has two plots seemingly unattended with extensive weed growth.  Letter to be sent to plot holders initially to determine reasons for condition. If not extenuating circumstance then notice to quit to follow.

 

New Site looking very healthy with work and planting obvious.

 

Discussion followed regarding need to provide additional site to accommodate waiting list. Cllr Cattle raised land belonging to Col Hanson previously considered, Cllr Cattle to check Planning Notice on gate of land.  Location at Sun Hill and Arlebury Park discussed, Eastern end of Arle Gardens. Cllr Cattle and Cllr Gentry to visit both locations.  Condition of soil discussed and Cllr Gentry suggested top soil from Petanque works could be used to enhance allotment site.

7 Item 249.5 from NATC meeting 19th March 08 – Resolution to review corner configuration of Stratton Bates Car Park to overcome reported blind spot. (Postponed Pending an inspection of the site by Neil Broadbent of Hampshire Highways)

 

The matter was discussed and noted that the area of two car parking bays, thought to have created blind spot should be flattened and finished surface be made by  Barrett Homes possible planting. Letter to be sent to Barrett Homes with suggestion/site meeting.  Cllr Yeldham to speak with Geoff Sayer to ascertain that this resolves the problem.

8 Chairman’s summary

8.1 Jacklyn Lane Bush Shelter Cllr Cattle advised that new quote received from Queensbury Shelters item 1b was selected. Order to proceed

 

Cllr Gentry advised further funds in budget for another shelter. Discussion regarding location at Hankins Ct and proximity of shelter to new build. Mrs Gould, Alton Herald to include article asking for comment on moving the shelter 30 yrds up Jacklyn’s Lane 

Cllr Gentry asked if there were any other suggestions for a new shelter Cllr Cattle suggested Mitford Rd.

 

8.2  Dog Bins Cost and Location

Cllr Cattle advised cost of Dog Fouling signage received from WCC  as Tourism Cttee (23rd April Meeting) had requested signage along the Millenium/Arle Valley Trail.  Clerk to request sizes of signs from WCC

 

Location for additional dog bins were discussed, Churchyard, The Dean, Mill Hill/Broad St, Arlebury Park triangle.  The cost of a 50L metal bin is £220 plus vat for installation.  Cllr Gentry noted that this did not include the cost of emptying.  Clerk to get details of cost for an additional 4 bins and to ask if there was a reducing cost  scale for more bins .

 

Cllr Yeldham commented on the Bike stand being sponsored by Bighton Parish and plaque Cllr Cattle advised this can be done but it would appear that Bighton PC ‘s contribution has been sent to Alresford Town Partnership
