Dog Bins

Alresford Society notified NATC of complaints received in Conservation Area - ask if bright red colour is statutory requirement is another less obtrusive colour possible? Committee discussed issues where dog bins have been used with ordinary rubbish – decision to keep bins red to ensure distinguishable from litter bins.

 

Dog Warden Has erected further signs in Appledown Close following a neighbour complaint of fouling on the green

 

Litter Bin Memorial Gardens  - Need for further litter bin discussed and agreed that a bin could be erected outside the Lych-Gate. NATC would have to pay for the supply and install,  WCC will empty.  Cllr Yeldham to speak with Church check original number of bins on site, to determine whether new bin would be a replacement – may lower cost.

 

Resolution: To purchase an additional wheelie  litter bin to be located outside Lych-Gate at Memorial Gardens at a cost of £225.66 plus VAT Proposed: Cllr Gentry Seconded: Cllr Jeffs (AGREED)

 

Tulip style litter Bin by Petanque – Cllr Yeldham advised this style without a lid and rubbish overflows. NATC litter picker to be made aware to ensure regular clearance

 

SID (Speed Indicator Display)  Clerk to check lead time on unit and brackets. If long lead time to  proceed with order for Main Unit at a cost of £2650.

Cllr Cattle and Cllr Jeffs to view and determine locations, need to have a 70mtr clear sight line, needs to located high to deter vandalism.

Lighting Inventory 2009/10 Update   Columns reduced from 45 to 18  Estimate and Inventory received by HCC to be queried totals do not reflect the reduction.  Discussion took place with regard to future plans. Cllr Gentry advised on receipt of enquiry as to real cost will determine which columns to retain which to upgrade. This will also affect the payback time period.

Cllr Mansfield suggested erecting lamps on opposite side of road to existing with regard to the 42metre or less apart rule.

Cllr Middleton advised Ash Parish Council in Aldershot use contractor to erect columns a a lower cost. Clerk to investigate costs

Alresford Town Partnership –

Cllr Jeffs confirmed Finances fine. John Arlott event 21st June. Grant from WCC not allocated to this event. WCC grants to support sporting events.

Cycle Racks  Style options tabled. Various suggestions of possible locations discussed and agreed.

 

Resolution: In consultation with Alresford Society to purchase and install cycle stands in four locations in Alresford, Broad Street stand to be as current style and to be actioned first for gradual improvement budget permitting

1 To purchase and install single Cycle Stand on gravel area in Broad Street costing  tba per unit, installation cost tba

2 To purchase and install single Festival Cycle Stand north side of West St,( old BT box site) costing £169 per unit, installation cost tba

 

3 To purchase and erect single Festival Cycle Stand on West Street outside Heidi’s Bakery costing £169 per unit, installation cost tba

4 To purchase and install single Festival Cycle Stand at the bottom of West St costing £169 per unit, installation cost tba

Waiting List stands at 29

Periodic Inspection showed 2 plots requiring investigation.

Meeting with Allotment Society’s Dave Basford to determine if one plot is unworkable as advised by plotholder

 

Awaiting further detail re possible new site in neighbouring location – no indication as to size costs etc clearing work halted during the nesting period availability  anticipated October 09
